Home Quality Mark
HQM is an independently assessed certification scheme for new homes in England, Scotland and Wales. It is part of the BREEAM family of schemes to assess sustainability in the built environment. It uses simple 5-star rating and a set of indicators to measure the standard of a home’s design, construction, running costs and sustainability.
Although not currently mandatory, more developers and housebuilders are using HQM as a measure of a home’s quality, cost effectiveness and sustainability, to allow potential home buyers gain an understand their home and their investment.
• My Cost: an indication of the overall
